Alberobello is a municipality of the city of Bari.
The town of Alberobello is a UNESCO world heritage site. It has the particularity of being made up of trulli, dry stone houses (without mortar) with cone-shaped roofs (see section Trulli). The Monti (the most touristic) and Aia Piccola districts have about 1500 of them, these 2 districts being classified as world heritage by UNESCO. It is a unique urban center in the world. The sloping streets of the Monti district are lined with trulli, most of which house souvenir and craft stores. The Aia Piccola district is still a residential area and is not, for the moment, subject to mass tourism.
